Keep exercise close to nutrition

Workouts affect appetite, recovery, and weekly energy demand. When exercise sits in a separate app, it is easy to miss the full picture.

Health Atlas brings manual workouts, Apple Health workouts, steps, distance, and burn closer to your nutrition log so review feels more connected.

Manual logging works too

You do not need Apple Health to track exercise. Manual workout logging is useful when:

  • You want to record a session quickly.
  • The workout did not sync from another source.
  • You know the duration and estimated burn.
  • You want the workout visible in your nutrition review.

The goal is context, not perfect exercise accounting.

Use Apple Health when available

On iPhone, Apple Health can sync workouts, steps, distance, active calories, and health metrics. After syncing, those snapshots can stay useful later when you review from web.

If today's values look stale, refresh the Health tab. For older days, stored synced data is usually more stable.

Review the week, not just the workout

One hard workout does not always mean you need a big food change. Look at the whole week:

  • Did training volume increase?
  • Did steps change?
  • Did sleep or recovery drop?
  • Did hunger change across several days?
  • Did calorie intake stay near the intended limit?

This helps you avoid overreacting to one session.

Planning around workouts

Use workouts to make tomorrow planning more useful:

  • Add a protein-forward meal after hard training.
  • Keep a simple backup meal ready for late sessions.
  • Leave room in the calorie limit when hunger is predictable.
  • Save common workout-day meals as standard meals.

If you use the workout tools, templates and plans can help turn goals and availability into repeatable sessions. Treat them like nutrition templates: a helpful structure that you can adjust as real life changes.
