There are limitations associated with food composition databases. Food composition data used in the database or databases may represent an average of the nutrient content of a particular sample of foods and ingredients, determined at a particular time. The nutrient composition of foods and ingredients can vary substantially between batches and brands because of a number of factors, including changes in season, processing practices and ingredient source, and methods of calculation.

This work is based on Australian data. Australian data may not be appropriate for use in other countries.

Health Atlas selects energy, protein, fat, available carbohydrate, fibre, sugars and sodium on a per 100 g basis. Energy including fibre is converted from kJ to kcal by dividing by 4.184 and rounded to 2 decimal places. Missing, non-numeric or negative nutrient values remain null. A default 100 g serving is supplied without inferred portion weights. FSANZ food identifiers, names and classification codes are retained; the separate brand field is empty. Records are validated and sorted by food identifier.

The AFCD-derived values shown in Health Atlas are made available under the same FSANZ Data User Licence Agreement. Our Terms do not restrict your rights in these values.

FSANZ does not endorse Health Atlas and is not connected with it.

FSANZ offers the work as-is, without representations, warranties or conditions concerning accuracy, fitness for purpose, non-infringement, defects or errors, to the full extent permitted by applicable law. Statutory rights that cannot be excluded remain unaffected. See clause 7 of the licence agreement.

Any reference to a brand name within the database is not to be taken as an authoritative statement of the composition of that product, due to changes in formulation that may have occurred since our data was generated, or due to the limitations noted above with analytical data.
